Leo

The Nemean lion, whose hide no weapon could pierce, slain by Heracles with his bare hands as the first of his twelve labours. Its pelt became his armour ever after.

Its brightest star, Regulus — the little king — sits almost exactly on the ecliptic, a blue-white star some seventy-nine light years away.
